Avoid Wayne from Blackwell Roofing. He quoted £380 based on photos, then came to view the job from the ground—no proper inspection. He later climbed a ladder with no safety gear, started tearing down fascia, then suddenly claimed the job was £1,600. When I asked him to stop, he became aggressive, shouting and throwing tools and wood down dangerously. I felt threatened and unsafe in my own home. Totally unprofessional, dishonest, and intimidating. Do not hire him.

He was most helpful in discussing options, worked very hard, and was a pleasure to work with. We are very satisfied with the end result - a great improvement. We used Kingz for clearance of a very overgrown garden and new fencing. They did exactly what they said they would do in their quote. They worked hard, left the garden tidy, and took away all the waste. They were very pleasant and Emma, in particular, gave good advice regarding ongoing after care of the garden. We were very happy with the results and would definitely recommend this family team!

Pros: Fair and competitive pricing. Work scheduled on short notice and finished quicker than expected. On-site team was professional and courteous. Cons: Needed to follow up to get scaffolding removed. Warranty documents were delayed by over a month despite multiple chases. Gutters were not reinstalled properly causing leaks. Two repair attempts failed and I'm now waiting on a full replacement with no exact date confirmed as yet.

Dan is a force of nature, as anyone who’s met him will agree. He and his team were always dedicated, hard-working and good natured. I would recommend Dan and his team to anyone, especially for a big renovation project like this, which involves working with other parties, such as structural engineers, kitchen designers and installers, as he works with them and takes away most of the pain. The quality of the work is excellent and he always came back to complete the snag list (even 3x for our thresholds).
